On August 7th, the EcoFlourish project team met with local gardeners and fruit lovers at the VDU Botanical Garden in Kaunas. The event, called "Uogų dienos" (Berry Days), was a perfect example of our Living Lab approach—where researchers and the public work together to make farming better.

Stylish & Productive Gardens

Choosing the Best Varieties

Dr. Ingė Auželienė showed us how berries aren't just for eating—they can make a garden look beautiful and modern (Integrated Agroecology).

Prof. Remigijus Daubaras explained which berries are the healthiest and easiest to grow in our local climate.

Tasting the Results

You can't talk about berries without tasting them! We held a sensory tasting session with different blueberry varieties. This helps our project understand what people actually want to eat, which is a key part of our Multi-Actor approach. We listen to the people, not just the machines.

Data & Innovation

While everyone enjoyed the fruit, our researchers were busy showing the data. We shared how different soil treatments (like bark and plastic) affect plant health. This links directly to our goal of using Smart Innovation and AI tools to help farmers make better choices.
